Qube Technologies Continuous Monitoring Probability of Detection

Executive Summary

• Highwood Emissions Management conducted independent, single-blind controlled release testing of the Qube Solution from February to May 2022 to evaluate its methane detection performance. The testing accounted for variables like wind speed, direction, emission rate, and distance from source to sensor.

• The Qube Solution consists of three main components: IIoT devices that measure gas concentration and environmental data, a cloud-based analytics platform, and a web-based user dashboard. A typical facility deployment involves 3-5 devices installed around the perimeter.

• Testing was conducted at Qube's Controlled Release Testing Facility in Alberta, Canada, using 15 Qube Devices placed at varying distances (50m, 75m, and 100m) from the emission source. The probability of detection was analyzed using a logistic regression model that incorporated release rate, distance, wind speed, and wind favorability index as variables.
